How to choose an educational toy that actually gets played with

Match the toy to your child’s stage, not their age on paper

Kids develop at different paces. A 2-year-old who already stacks confidently is ready for a shape-sorter; another might still be exploring textures. Tell us the age and what your child is doing at play right now — at the counter or on Instagram DM — and we’ll match a toy to where they actually are.

Prefer open-ended over one-trick toys

The best educational toys can be played with in many ways. Wooden blocks, magnetic tiles, loose-parts kits and role-play sets are still going strong after months. Toys with a single button and a single outcome usually lose their charm in a week — worth avoiding.

Look for BIS certification and non-toxic materials

Every educational toy we stock is checked for BIS certification — the Indian safety standard for toys — and painted with non-toxic finishes. Wooden toys we carry use food-safe stains; plastics are BPA-free. If a product doesn’t list its certification, we don’t list it.

Screen-free is a feature, not a limitation
